Animal Fine Art Photography

The history of man’s development has always included interdependence with the animal kingdom. Animals were traditionally sources of labor, transportation, food, aesthetic wonder, and companionship. This last part of the relationship, companionship, has fueled modern photographers’ interest in animals. Since the turn of the 20th century and continuous to the present, photographers have traveled the world from Africa to the western United States eulogizing in portraits the life of animals. An integral part of the civilized world since the ancient Egyptians, animals have progressed from “beasts of burden” to our esteemed family members.
